O2 will be the first mobile operator in the UK to offer the new Sony Xperia Go smartphone, which as you may know is made for folks leading an “active” lifestyle. The device we’re talking about already got a dedicated page at O2′s “Coming Soon” section from where we learn that it will start selling later this month. The price was not mentioned but it’s fair to guess the carrier will offer the Xperia Go for free to anyone willing to commit on a two-year contract starting at some 20 GBP per month.
Announced alongside Xperia Acro S, the Sony Xperia Go is a waterproof and dust-proof phone with specs that include a 1GHz dual-core processor, 3.5-inch HVGA screen, 512MB of RAM, 5-megapixel rear camera, GPS, Bluetooth, 8GB of built-in memory, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. No doubts that the Ice Cream Sandwich update will be released later in the year…
