Canada’s TELUS will soon release the “Your Account” app to allow its 7.36 million subscribers to easily manage their accounts while on the go. As far as we’ve heard, using the application, you will be able to check your usage, monitor and pay bills, check the favorite number list, and quickly call TELUS support with a tap of the button.

The application will be initially released for Android, iPhone and BlackBerry users, whether they’re on prepaid or postpaid. Moreover, a Windows Phone version will follow though at the moment it’s still in the “coming soon” phase, meaning that the carrier is still in the early stage of development and will release it later in the year (or so we think).

Best of all, while you’re managing your account using the app, TELUS won’t charge you for the data consumed, though I guess that changes if you’re accessing “Your Account” from outside of Canada. UPDATE: We got confirmation from TELUS – you’ll be able to use “Your Account” app for free EVEN IN ROAMING. Cool!

We like what TELUS is doing and can’t but recommend every carrier in the world to follow this example. People like to be able to manage their accounts more closely and an easy-to-use app is the way to go…
