The Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD, which was announced alongside Ascend D Quad at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, will be released in late August. Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s head of the Consumer Business Group and Senior Vice President of Huawei Technologies, turned to Sina Weibo (Chinese version of Twitter) to spread the good news, saying that the tablet will initially be available in China for “less than 3,000 yuan,” which translates into $471 or 385 EUR.
The MediaPad 10 FHD is one the best Android tablets unveiled to date, packing a 10-inch 1920×1200 Full HD IPS touchscreen, 1.5GHz Huawei quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing one, Wi-Fi and HSPA+ (optional) connectivity, a ton of built-in storage and 6,400mAh battery that provides enough juice to keep you watching movies for hours (8-9 hours of continuous 720p video playback and 6-7 hours of 1080p content). We’ve no idea when it will be out in the Western hemisphere and can only hope that will happen sooner rather than later. At the big event in Barcelona, we weren’t allowed to touch the MediaPad 10 FHD, with the guy at Huawei’s booth demoing it for us…
