Discovery Channel Canada launched local version of the Discovery Channel app. Available as a free download, the application acts as a companion to the Discovery Channel, allowing viewers to engage via socially-driven, show-related chat environments and to participate in polls, trivia, contests and more. Furthermore, users can also extend and share the “Discovery experience” with their network of friends and followers as they watch shows live on broadcast or when they are catching up through the app. Speaking of which [catching up through the app], you can access to streaming video of select Discovery programming, in addition to series photos, episode guides, news updates and broadcast schedule.

In other words — and as Bell Media’s Steven Bickley would put it — the Discovery App gives viewers a “great platform for engagement, while doing all the things expected in a great brand-companion app, like catch up programming and show information.”

So if you’re in Canada and also happen to enjoy watching the Discovery Channel, you’ll want to grab their app. Hit the link below and take it from there…
