Amazon Instant Video lands on the iPad; brings Prime streaming, TV Season Pass and offline viewing

Apple has been making some media-centric moves lately, beefing up its content offerings for its products. Yesterday, the tech giant added Hulu Plus to its list of channels for its Apple TV set-top-box,  and today, the mega company has Amazon’s Instant Video Store in the App Store for iPad. The app not only offers Prime members unlimited streams of content, but also gives them the ability to download content for offline use. Furthermore, Season Pass for shows and Whispersync (which lets users pick up where they left off on another device) is also available.

If you’re an Amazon Prime owner who happens to own an iPad and an Apple TV, let us know if you can mirror video streams from the app? This would be another added bonus Apple could market to potential customers of its products.

I have a first generation iPad and the latest Apple TV. I can only stream audio to the Apple TV, no video.

I have 3rd generation iPad, Apple TV and Amazon Prime and can only get the audio also.  I was excited about having another alternative.

Other “non-Apple TV” video apps stream fine (i.e. Crackle).
