Pantech Marauder, which has been leaked as Star Q, has been officially announced by Verizon Wireless. The mid-range smartphone offers quite a bang for the buck, including LTE connectivity support (as well as EV-DO and Wi-Fi), 3.8-inch WVGA touchscreen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera on the back, front-facing one (for video calls), GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 and a microSD memory card slot. In addition, there’s also the ever useful side-sliding QWERTY keyboard that makes typing that much easier, while Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is running the show.
All this could be yours starting August 2nd (tomorrow) for 50 bucks ($49.99) after a $50 mail-in rebate and with a new two-year customer agreement. Sounds like a deal to me, especially if you can’t handle virtual keyboards and would rather opt for a physical one.
