HipGeo’s new app automatically creates location-based stories from photos, video and text

HipGeo launched a new HipGeo app and website with full video capability. As a result, the service/app can now deal with text, photos and videos, transforming these elements into “rich virtual storytelling journals” that can then be shared on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, within the HipGeo community, or via email.

In other words, HipGeo will group together disparate mobile photos, videos and text into a location and storytelling stream that can be accessed via a Trip Player and Day Map.

You can choose to upload pictures and videos either while at a location or later on. For instance, if you’re out of the country, HipGeo allows you to post in background mode, automatically saving your journals and posting them when Wi-Fi is available, or when you’re back in your data plan home country. Similarly, when you are in a low signal area, your videos and photos will be cached and uploaded when Wi-Fi is available or when the signal is stronger…

Sounds pretty seamless to me, what do you say?
