It was back in 1991 when Team 17 unveiled the original Alien Breed for Amiga. The popular game was then released for PC in 1993 and today we’re glad to say that iOS users can join the party, too.

The new version of the game allows users to play with either old-school Amiga graphics or new retina-display imagery (Enhanced Mode). 6 original Alien Breed and 12 Alien Breed Special Edition levels come included, as well as 4 entirely new levels that “intersect with the original Alien Breed story.”

Your goal remains the same – to kill all aliens that want to harm you. In order to accomplish this goal, you’ll be picking up ammo, keys and weapons along the way, or — to make it easier — buy them via in-app purchase.

Game Center leaderboards and achievements come supported so you can check how you stack up against other Alien Breed fighters.

The game costs 5 bucks which may sound a lot by today’s standards, but then again it’s pretty cheap for getting back a piece of your childhood.
