Microsoft and Nokia has something up its sleeves for the next few months. Nokia is gearing up to announce Windows Phone 8 devices at its new roadshow-style Nokia World event on September 5, according to Bloomberg. The report claims to have “a person with knowledge of the matter,” who claims to have word that the Finnish company will unveil its plans during the event mentioned above. Bloomberg’s sources also added that they believe the devices will be on sale “before the year-end holiday shopping season.”
This is could be a good thing for Nokia to unveil something exciting, as it tries so desperately to get consumer mindshare in a market dominated by both Google and Apple. Furthermore, revealing handsets ahead of Apple’s rumored next-generation iPhone unveiling on September 12th, would be good gamesmanship on the company’s part.
