The Xperia P will be the next phone to receive its helping of Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), according to Sony. This news comes after the company released Firmware updates for its Xperia U device. Word hit about the Xperia P’s impending upgrade once Sony Mobile of India used its Official Facebook to announce the rollout of ICS. The update will begin landing on handsets during the week of August 19-25. Problem is, we don’t have a clue if this rollout of Ice Cream Sandwich is for India only, but even if that is the case, we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see too much of a delay for other countries.

Even though ICS in a few months will turn one years old, it’s still miles better than Gingerbread (Android 2.3). Having Android 4.0 will most definitely give users a much improved experience for the money spent.
