U.S. Cellular has quietly started offering the Alcatel ONE TOUCH Premiere few days ago. However, it was only today (late yesterday actually) that we caught a press release announcing the new device and I guess we have the bad PR timing to blame for this.
Anyway, Alcatel’s baby is a low-end Android smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard located beneath a 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen. We’ve no idea which CPU it uses but judging by the rest of the specs, I would guess it has a single-core one, clocked at 600-800 Mhz. In addition, the ONE TOUCH Premiere also sports a 2-megapixel camera on the back, 3G (EV-DO) and Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS and a microSD memory card slot. U.S. Cellular is selling it for $29.99 after $50 mail-in rebate and with a new two-year contract. You can check it out from this page at U.S. Cellular’s website…
