Google has started rolling out a new version of the Google Play Store app which seemingly doesn’t change a thing. However, under the hood there are a number of changes as reported by AndroidPolice. By unpacking the APK, they managed to spot new features Android smartphone and tablet users will be able to access in the near future.
There are two new things incoming – gift card support and wishlist. As you can imagine, the former will allow you and your friends to buy each other gift certificates that can be redeemed for apps and other content sold through Google Play. This is something Apple has been allowing in iTunes for quite some time now and I guess that’s something Google should implement as well.
As for the wishlist, this feature will allow you to add apps, games and videos to the wishlist and eventually buy it later. Again, very useful and something pretty much any decent web store offers these days…
