Looks like we’ll see the first Windows Phone 8 devices sooner than we thought. Nokia has started sending out press invites for its Windows Phone-centric event, taking place in New York on September 5th. This is the same day as Nokia World’s opener, so it seems that the Finnish company wants to have the eyes and ears of the world for the big announcement.
The invite graphics also mentions Nokia Maps and we’re not really sure what to think about it. Free navigation with Windows Phone devices certainly sounds appealing but first we need to see some rock-solid devices that will help both Nokia and Microsoft get more traction among consumers. Can’t wait.
