Great news for you Xperia P owners out there. Sony has started to roll out your update to Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) ahead of schedule. In this update users can expect the same ICS goodness that graces just about every phone such as resizable widgets; a new task switcher; and updates to Gmail, Calendar, and other popular apps. Sony has also updated its Android application suite, which found the company ditching the Music name in-favor of Walkman. Moreover, the Movies, and Gallery apps received visual and functional updates as well.
Other noteworthy features include an improved lockscreen and an “extended standby mode” that Sony says can increase the standby life of the Xperia P times four. The update is said to be hitting devices today, so keep a close eye on your phone for that special notification. If you’re the impatient type, then you can crazily check for your upgrade by going to Settings > System Updates on your handset.
