RIM is hard at work trying to get out its BlackBerry 10 devices, as it will determine whether the company in the future sinks or swims. At this point, not much is known about the Canadian manufacturers new phones, but we do know a couple of things. Reports have pinned next generation BlackBerry devices to having high resolution screens. We can also expect an all touch model with a 1,280 x 720 display, and keyboard-style phones with 720 x 720 screens.
We also know that BlackBerry 7 and under devices will no longer get major updates, as the company plans to stop development on Enterprise Servers to make room for the new BB10 devices. Now, the latest news suggests that BlackBerry 10 handsets will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T processor, according to unnamed sources who told BlackBerryOS. The 1.5 GHz Dual Krait, Snapdragon processor, is an ARM-based CPU that specializes in HD resolutions and multitasking.
This is big news for those (consumers) who still wave the BlackBerry flag, and plan to stay aboard the ship as it sails through roughtide. I’ve said before, and I’ll say it again: RIM is all in when it comes to BlackBerry 10. The company has shown that it’s very important for it to give the new devices all the focus and attention they need in order to be successful. The phones will get a legit run before the company decides to sell itself or not.
That said, from all the rumors we’ve been hearing over the weeks, the new BlackBerry 10 handsets are sounding pretty impressive. What’s your thoughts?
