Nexus 7 now available from Google Play in France, Germany and Spain

Looks like that September 3rd date was bogus as customers in France, Germany and Spain can now order their Nexus 7 unit from the Google Play store. The 8GB model goes for 199 EUR, while the one sporting 16GB of built-in storage costs 249 EUR. That’s more than what Americans are paying, but I guess we have the higher taxes to “thank” for this. And besides – by now, most Europeans are used to paying more for their gear.

Anyway, it’s nice to see Nexus 7 hitting more markets, however Google needs to up the ante and make its tablet available all around the world as soon as possible. The upcoming announcement of the iPad mini can seriously impact the Nexus 7 demand. That said, the next step for the search giant is to release the Nexus 7 in other European countries and then march to Asia. We’ll see how that goes…
