Adding to the “should you buy the new Galaxy Note” debate, we got the price of the unlocked device. According to a placard spotted on the floor at IFA, Sammy will sell the SIM-free phablet for 639.90 EUR in Germany. Translated into U.S. dollars, that’s whopping $803! Now we know that Americans are used to paying less for their gadgets due to lower taxes (no VAT) and it’s kinda expected that the SIM-free Galaxy Note II costs around $700. Or some $250-$300 on a two-year carrier contract. That’s just me speculating, taking into account the price of the existing Galaxy Note – AT&T sells it for $549 sans any strings attached. So again, how much are you willing to pay for the new Note?
