Barnes and Noble working on a new Nook Tablet with 243 ppi display?

Move over, Amazon. Barnes and Noble is upgrading their tablet line as well.

Not to be outdone by the refreshed Kindle line expected at an event in Santa Monica tomorrow, a “reliable source” for Engadget has confirmed that Barnes and Noble is working on an update to its Nook Tablet to be released this fall. The source called the refreshed Nook Tablet both extremely light and having an incredible display, with the display measuring 243ppi. Barnes and Noble is also reportedly working on a video store service, which would pair quite nicely with the rumored display.

If the revamped Nook Tablet with fall release is to be believed, we should be learning more from Barnes and Noble soon. We’ll keep our eyes glued to our inboxes for an invitation to a Barnes and Noble event.
