iOS 6 available for download starting September 19

Apple introduced iOS 6 at WWDC in June, and today the company announced that it will be available starting September 19th.  The latest version of iOS includes the following notable features:

  • a new iOS Maps app
  • a new Passbook app
  • improved Phone app
  • iCloud tab syncing
  • Facebook integration
  • FaceTime now works over 3G
  • Shared Photo Streams

iOS 6 will be compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch 4th generation, iPad 2 and the new iPad. The update will be delivered over the air or available as a download when you sync to iTunes.
