The chances are you haven’t heard of Xtreamer Mobile in the past. That, however, doesn’t mean they can’t make a good product. Quite the contrary, these guys are preparing to launch a novel Android smartphone called AiKi, which specs include a 5-inch screen, 5-megapixel camera, dual SIM capability, while Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich is running the show. Moreover, there are some hack-friendly features included such as ClockWorkMod based updates, multilingual ROM and root. Pretty cool, but there’s more – the teaser video ends with “Why pay more?” tagline, hinting us that once launched this baby won’t necessarily break anyone’s bank. You can sign-up at Xtreamer Mobile’s website to be the first to know when the new phone starts selling. Check out the mentioned teaser video, in the meantime…
Dusan has been using smartphones since their introduction and is now following the latest trends in the industry. The "convergence" is what he's most excited about, and writing about it is the next logical thing to do. He thinks that using a smartphone is what everyone who cares about their time should do.
In addition to his interests in mobile phones, Dusan also loves to experiment with the latest web and mobile 2.0 services. The idea of accessing and managing your information from any device no matter where you are simply amazes him. Whether it's an online to-do list, note taking service or a video sharing social network, he's there to try it out. He admits though, he's still searching for the ultimate web-based organizational tool, which "sings" perfectly with the mobile PIM application.
Dusan used to run SymbianWatch.com which later became part of IntoMobile. He lives in Serbia, South-East Europe, from where he edits the site on a daily basis.

I like the idea of pre-rooted and unlocked bootloader, but don’t look for most US carriers to take it.

I could see one of the bring-your-own-phone SIM providers not minding if you did this (T-Mobile or Straight Talk) although I don’t know what bands it supports. Then again, I wondered why the Engadget article said “we suspect ___European___ users inclined to modding should at least keep an eye out”.
