C Spire Wireless, which we used to know as Cellular South, launched its LTE network in four Mississippi markets, including McComb, Brookhaven, Meridian and Greenville. These 4 are first of 31 markets that will get the 4G network by the end of October. Plus, there will be another six markets getting the LTE love by the end of 2012 as part of the company’s multi-million dollar investment, which will continue next year.

The initial markets, served by 364 cell sites, will cover 2,700 square miles and a population of 1.2 million.

Commenting on the news, C Spire’s president and CEO Hu Meena said: “With today’s announcement, C Spire Wireless is offering customers the fastest data speeds available along with 4G devices that bring our personalized data network to life. 4G LTE from C Spire gives consumers more of what they want and where they want it than ever before.”
