Several users on XDA-Developers are indicating that their Samsung Galaxy S III devices are receiving an update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The update is first appearing in Poland, though reports suggest that it is making its way across the rest of Europe as well. Jelly Bean comes to the Galaxy S III a week ahead of schedule; Samsung had previously promised that Android 4.1 would come to the Galaxy S III as early as October.

The release was made on Samsung’s Kies software, and European readers hoping to get their hands on Jelly Bean for their Galaxy S III should fire up Kies and check if the update is available in your locale. Of course, it may be a week or two before its available, so don’t be surprised if you can’t update just yet. Regardless, rest assured knowing your top-of-the-line Android smartphone will be running the latest version of Android very soon.
