Mobile payments company Bango has gone live with its direct operator billing technology for Facebook in Germany, the UK and US. As a result, users can purchase digital content directly through Facebook without using SMS or credit cards, and without registering their personal details. Charges are added to directly to consumers’ phone bills.
According to Bango, this will lead to significantly higher rates of payment collection – an average conversion rate for payment is 77% compared to 40% for conventional operator billing.
The partnership with Facebook was announced in February 2012, and the service will soon be expanded to other countries.
Aside from Facebook, Bango is also integrated with BlackBerry App World, Opera Mobile Store as well as operator-based connections to Google Play. The company also works with Amazon and MasterCard and provides mobile payment analytics.
