Although it has been announced in August, you still can’t get the Samsung Ativ S. The reason is obvious – Windows Phone 8 hasn’t been officially announced and as far as we know, it’s still not be ready for use by the general public.
However, now you can pre-order Sammy’s Windows SuperPhone in the UK, with Handtec asking 479.99 GBP (about $770) for the unlocked, SIM-free device. That’s kinda steep, but then again – we’re talking about one of the best Windows Phones ever (alongside Nokia Lumia 920). If you do decide to spend your hard-earned cash, you’ll be among the first ones to experience Microsoft’s new mobile platform on Ativ S’ large 4.8-inch 720p Super AMOLED HD screen in the first week of November when Handtec will send it to you.
Aside from the mentioned screen, Sammy’s baby also comes with an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 2-megapixel front-facing one, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz.
