John Paczkowski ofAllThingsD reported on Friday that Apple will hold an invitation-only event on October 23rd to announce the iPad mini. Details on the event’s location were not available, but Paczkowski believes the event could be held on Apple’s Cupertino campus at the company’s town hall auditorium. Sources told him the iPad mini will include a 7.85-inch display and a lightning connector.
This rumored event is one of many dates that have been tossed around in the past few months for the iPad mini announcement. Initially, rumors claimed Apple was going to unveil the iPad mini along the iPhone 5 at the company’s fall event. A later rumor dispelled that myth and pointed to October 17 as the date the iPad mini would be unveiled. After invitations didn’t go out this week, that day was cast aside and is now replaced by October 23rd. We will have to wait and see if invitations go out in the next week and confirm this late October event.
