Sony Yuga spotted rocking 5 inch, 1080p display

It looks like Sony is prepping a 5 inch monster phone to ship out sometime in the next coming months. The device we see will likely end up looking rather different when it debuts, but we can only hope it gets a sleek and sexy design ala Xperia T.

It looks like the Yuga will be rocking a nice set of specs to compliment the large 1080p display. So far, rumored specs include a quad-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, 2GB RAM, and 12 megapixel camera, which brings itself into LG Optimus G territory. However, unlike LG’s latest flagship offering, the Yuga will also ship with a microSD card slot.

By now, we can tell that the Yuga will be one seriously powerful piece of hardware, but hopefully Sony will do something to stand out in the design department. I’ve long been a fan of Sony’s handset designs and still have a tendency to geek-twitch whenever I see an Xperia Arc/Arc S, which isn’t nearly often enough.

Whatever this handset turns out to be, let’s hope it makes it to the US, as Sony really needs to offer up some decent handsets on this side of the pond. And no, having devices on just one carrier isn’t enough.
