Smartphones have taken the photo market by force as they’re powerful (and compact) enough to be your primary camera. Here are some interesting stats on using your smartphone to make photos, prepared by the good folks of SmugMug:

  • Some 300 million photos are added to the web every day
  • 85% of iPhone users edit their photos on their device; in comparison, only 15% of Android users do the same.
  • There are 5000 camera apps in the App Store
  • 91% of smartphone owners use their phone to take a photo at least once a month; compared to 73% of digital camera owners.
