Windows Phone 7.8, which is made as an update for the existing Windows Phone 7.5 devices, will be released in early 2013, according to a leaked slide from one of Nokia’s Chinese-language training manuals.

The new software will bring few notable features along with a new UI that will make old phones look brand new, featuring UI tweaks, icons and graphics a la Windows Phone 8. For instance, there’s support for three tile sizes, along with a new homepage look & feel, color themes (20 altogether), bug and security fixes for Internet Explorer. Moreover, users will get the ability to create ringtones out of MP3 files, while Bing photos will be a new repository for lock screen images (again like on Windows Phone 8).

And that’s about all we have at the moment. We’ll let you know if we hear something new…
