Merrill Lynch analyst Scott Craig believes T-Mobile will soon carry the iPhone. Writing in an investor note, Craig said “speculation is heightening” about a T-Mobile iPhone, which leads him to believe a launch is imminent. Craig postulates that parent company Deutsche Telecom may announce the iPhone during an analyst event next week.

T-Mobile is the fourth largest wireless carrier in the US and has 33 million customers. It has been activating 3G/4G HSPA+ on the iPhone friendly 1700 MHz band. This allows iPhone owners to sign up with T-Mobile and enjoy fast internet access on their phones. Keep in mind that this claim is mere speculation by an analyst. Whether the T-Mobile announcement thing happens or not is a coin toss.
