The super hacker friendly HTC HD2 has done it again. Actually it’s the savvy hackers who did the job using the mod-friendly smartphone and make it run the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile platform. You got that right, the HD2 can handle Windows Phone 8 though I guess we shouldn’t expect everything to work as smoothly as on the Nokia Lumia 920 or HTC 8X, but it’s a major achievement nonetheless. Just imagine, if this device (which has a rather old single-core CPU clocked at 1GHz) can handle Windows Phone 8, some newer models should be able to do that just as well (or better). Or so we think…

Anyway, it’s amazing how these hackers manage to prolong the life of the now aging HTC HD2. If you recall, this is the same device we’ve earlier seen running Windows Phone 7, MeeGo, as well as a number of different Android versions, including Jelly Bean. So if you still own one of these you may be able to play with the latest version of Windows Phone if you know what you’re doing… You can get all the details from here.
