Almost missed this… HTC has launched its duo of Windows Phone 8 devices before Nokia did that with its Lumia 920T. The HTC 8S and 8X are offered by China Unicom, the country’s second largest mobile carrier, costing 1,999 yuan (about $320) and 3,999 yuan ($640), respectively.
The 8X’s price is especially steep but when it comes to Windows Phone 8, users still don’t have enough options to choose from. The better model (8X) has a bigger 4.3-inch 720p screen, 16GB of built-in memory and 1GB of RAM; while the 8S comes with a 4-inch WVGA display, 4GB of storage and just 512MB of RAM. Both phones get their power from Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
Aside from Nokia and HTC, Huawei and Samsung are also expected to launch their Windows Phone 8 devices in China, but as I’m writing this – it’s not clear when that will happen.
