Nokia Lumia 800 starts receiving Windows Phone 7.8 update in Europe

Nokia has started rolling out Windows Phone 7.8 update for the Lumia 800 in Europe. According to WP7.nl, users of the mentioned Nokia smartphone can get their updates using the Zune desktop software. Presuming you have the latest software installed on your Lumia 800, the process will see you downloading and installing 4 new files after which your smartphone will be running the latest version of Windows Phone (7.8) your device can handle. Expect some of the goodies Windows Phone 8 packs, including fancier homescreen, additional customization options, Xbox Tile and many other feature updates and enhancements.

So if you’re in a group that will be affected with the update, fire-up the Zune software and follow instructions provided on the screen. On the other hand, if you’re still not in this group, don’t worry – now that the floodgates have been opened, it’s just a matter of time before all users are served.
