Sad news for our European readers – HTC Butterfly won’t be coming your way. Previously we reported that Expansys will sell the Taiwanese company’s super-phone but those who opted to pre-order got the message that their device won’t be shipping. Here’s what the phone retailer had to say to one customer who expressed interest for the Butterfly:

Thank you for your recent interest and preorder of the HTC Butterfly. Unfortunately, we have now been informed by HTC that this device will not be available in European markets, and as such we have had to remove it from our website and cancel your preorder.

Despite the fact that this is sad news, there’s room for optimism. After all, if Europeans don’t get the Butterfly they may get the HTC M7 which is rumored as Butterfly’s successor. And as far as we’re hearing, it will be unveiled at CES in Las Vegas or Mobile World Congress in Barcelona…

But why????? As you said it, let’s hope the M7 launch isn’t that far.
