Although the original Ascend D quad hasn’t been a smashing success for Huawei — mostly because of poor distribution — the company has just unveiled its successor, D2, which we hope will be available all around the world (rather than just China and few other countries). The Ascend D2 is a powerful device, one that joins the new wave of smartphones equipped with 5-inch full HD screens and quad-core processors. It will likely use Huawei’s own K3V chip, while also boasting a 13-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing one and a solid 3,000mAh battery.
All said, we expect to see this bad boy at the upcoming CES in Las Vegas when hopefully the Chinese company will also let us know when will it start selling and how much the Ascend D2 will cost. We’re also hoping that more companies enter the high-end market to push the prices down — in that sense seeing Huawei joining the race is a good sign for consumers…
