Samsung Display, the Korean giant’s arm that makes modern screens, will showcase two flexible displays at the CES next month. One of them is catered toward TV sets and comes with a diagonal of 55 inches. We don’t care much about it, but we do care about the second model – it’s a 5.5-inch display that supports 1280×720 pixels resolution.
Apparently, these screens can be bent but they cannot be rolled up completely. We don’t mind that, but we will mind if we don’t get a release date in Vegas. Let me remind you that we’ve already heard rumors that Samsung may use unbreakable displays in its upcoming Galaxy phones and a screen like this one could be something we’ve been waiting for. We keep hoping that a Samsung phone or tablet with flexible display will be unveiled at some point next year.
Naturally, we’ll be in Vegas for the CES and get back to you with all information we gather from the big show. Stay tuned…
