File this under “rumors” as we don’t have this confirmed from any official source. We’re hearing that the upcoming Sony Odin will be called Xperia X — as opposed to Xperia Z which is apparently the name of the Sony Yuga.
We’re not sure which markets the Xperia X will be released initially, but I’m betting the Japanese company is pitching major American operators as we speak. At present, Sony doesn’t have a strong distribution in the U.S. and with awesome phones like Xperia Z and Xperia X, they may stand a chance to return to the second largest smartphone market (after China), big time. I still don’t quite understand the differences between the Xperia Z and Xperia X, but I’m sure we’ll get all the answers soon. CES, here we come.
