Looks like Huawei isn’t the only one looking to enter the phablet race with ZTE readying a similar device as we speak. The forthcoming ZTE P945 will debut in China, sporting a 5.7-inch 720p HD screen, quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 8-megapixel camera on the back, and 3,000mAh battery. Yup, we would expect such a device to come with a full HD display and a slightly faster CPU, but I guess the idea here is to make a more affordable, rather than more powerful device so that more people can afford to buy it.

The ZTE P945 will be sold by China Mobile and as I’m writing this, we’re not sure which other markets will get it as well. We will make sure to keep our eyes wide open and get back to you as soon as we have something new to add to the story. Stay tuned in the meantime…
