Corning is known for its damage-resistant Gorilla Glass that graces the front of smartphones worldwide. Thanks to a new formula, the next generation of this protective glass cover, Gorilla Glass 3, is now significantly better than it predecessor.

Corning was at CES with a nifty demo that showcased the damage resistance of its Gorilla Glass 3. It’s supposedly 50% stronger and three times more scratch-resistant than Gorilla Glass 2 and the demo supports this claim. Watch Corning in the video below as it rolls a 130-gram metal ball smack dab into the display of mock GG3-protected phone that handles the impact like a champ.
