CES 2013: Cool facts about Qualcomm’s CES 2013 keynote

Qualcomm’s CES 2013 Keynote was something spectacular. With its “born mobile” slogan, its Guillermo Del Toro trailer and even an appearance by Big Bird, it was a memorable event. It wasn’t all show, though, and a lot of technology was behind the scenes driving the presentation.

According to Qualcomm Spark, the main screen for the presentation was 50 feet wide and required graphics that measured 3,500 x 1,050 pixels. Add in the two 18-feet side screens and you need  a 6,060 x 2,490 image to fill the giant, 86-foot wide display.

As you can imagine prepping a video for a screen this large is an immense undertaking and it took a week for the final clip to render. When all was said and done, the final video weighed in at a whopping 1TB. You can read additional trivia about the keynote on the Spark’s blog using the link below.
