Supply of the Nexus 4 has been limited since launch and LG has taken much of the heat for this dearth of handsets. Cathy Robin, Director of Mobile Communication for LG in France, talked with Challenges.fr and laid some of the blame on Google.

Robin claims Google underestimated demand in some markets and overestimated demand in others. This led to a scarcity of devices in big markets like France. LG said it is working with Google to even out supply, but it takes up to six weeks to ramp up production.

Robin also denies the rumor that the company planned to stop producing the Nexus 4 in order to work on other phones. Instead, LG will continue to increase production  so there will a steady supply of Nexus 4 handsets to compete with the upcoming crop of Android smartphones.
