Few days ago we’ve told you that MetroPCS is offering Rhapsody music service as an add-on service to its subscribers, and now something similar is “happening” in Europe. Orange Switzerland is the “star” of this post, launching a new offering for its Orange Young users (who include the under-27 market).

Under the deal, Spotify subscriptions can be added for $13.90, which is the same price you would pay if you bought the service directly from Spotify. The difference, however, is huge. You see, with this deal all Spotify music streaming from your mobile phone is free. So no matter how much music you listen per day that won’t affect your mobile data allowance. Pretty neat especially for those who already like Spotify and don’t mind paying extra to get the same benefits they enjoy at home on their mobile phone.

On the downside, Spotify is a streaming-only service and you can’t download your favorite tunes (at least not in Europe). Not sure that’s a deal-breaker cause you get to stream as much music as you can… In any case, if you live in Switzerland you can get more details (and sign-up if you fancy so) from this page Orange’s website.

The other day I said some European carrier should do something like this. Now bring it on to other parts of Europe. Many folks would love an affordable music service tied to their phone bill.
