BlackBerry officially launched its BlackBerry 10 OS today at a morning event held in New York City. Besides unveiling details about its new mobile OS, the Canadian manufacturer also announced the BlackBerry Q10 handset, the first QWERTY phone with tits BlackBerry 10 OS.

The Q10 will complement the Z10, a full-touchscreen model also unveiled today by RIM. The Q10 features a  3.1-inch, 720 x 720 touchscreen display that sits above a full qwerty keyboard. The back of the device has glass weave cover that is “thinner, lighter, and stronger than plastic,” say BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins. It is expected to launch in Q1 2013, shortly after the Z10.
