Since Google’s acquisition of Motorola last year, we have all been anxiously waiting for a device jointly developed by Google and Motorola. A job posting from Linked-In by Motorola Mobility seems to have confirmed the development of this very device. According to the job posting, Motorola Mobility is looking for a Senior Director of Product Management for the “X Phone” project.

According to the Linked-In job posting, which has since been taken down, Motorola is seeking a qualified individual to lead the development and execution of a “next generation smartphone platform.” The job listing has appeared on Motorola’s own job site as well, but lacks any mention of the X Phone.

Rumors have pointed to a release of the X Phone at Google’s I/O developer conference, but the details in the job posting run contrary to this rumor. The posting is asking for a senior director of product management, which implies that the handset is still in the early stages of development.

Sorry guys, we still have no specs or further details about the rumored X Phone, so the design and specs are left up to our imaginations at the moment. Last year, The Wall Street Journal reported that Google and Motorola were working on a new phone and tablet with the code names X Phone and X Tablet, which would focus on bringing better cameras, bendable screens and ceramic materials to their new handsets.

Only time will tell what Google and Motorola have in store for us. Are you excited to see a jointly developed Motorola/Google smartphone? Let us know.
