One must wonder about the handset makers’ margins… When we see how low the price can go in China we’re kinda angry. Sure enough, each of the major handset makers has huge marketing costs that gotta count for something, but still…

On that note, we present you with the Neo N003, a new China-only phone that will be available in either April or May. It’s a powerful device that comes with a quad-core processor (MediaTek MT6589), 5.3-inch 720p HD screen, pretty big 3,000mAh battery and 13-megapixel camera; and the price tag of just $160. Yup, that’s the price of an unlocked phone — no contracts to sign, no long-term commitments. Nada.

We wish to see this bad boy hitting at least online stores in the West just to show big boys that we aren’t fools… or are we? We’ll keep paying premium major brands require despite the fact that some of them (I’m not gonna name names here) fail to release timely firmware updates…
