It was back in August 2011 when HTC acquired Dashboard which the company wanted to use to beef-up its Cloud-based Sense service. As we know, that didn’t lean anywhere and now they’re re-launching it to help mobile operators “simplify the smartphone user experience.”

The press release we’ve got suggests that Dashwire will make it easier for consumers to set up, personalize and use their new smartphones across leading Android device brands. So it’s not HTC smartphones the service will work with but handsets made by other companies, as well.

In the words of HTC’s president of engineering & operations Fred Liu, such wide solution will “ultimately benefit the entire mobile device ecosystem, including HTC.”

Dashwire has been working with operators in the U.S. and Europe, and is now growing its global portfolio through efforts at Mobile World Congress and beyond.
