Lenovo has announced the release of three new tablets at MWC, the S6000, the A3000 and the A1000. We’ve gotten our hands on the two lower-end devices, the A3000 and the A1000. Here’s what it’s like to spend some time with Lenovo’s new the mid-range and entry-level tablets.
As far as specs go, the Lenovo A3000 is a mid-range 7-inch tablet that sports a quad-core 1.2GHz MTK processor like the Lenovo S6000, and coming in at a thickness of 11mm, is a bit larger than the S6000. The A3000 has an IPS 1024×600 screen and optional HSPA+, 1GB of DDR2 RAM and runs the newest version of Android, 4.1 Jelly Bean. The unit comes with 32GB of onboard storage, and its microSD card slot allows expansion of up to 64GB. On the back of the tablet is a rear-facing camera, and stereo speakers. A volume rocker can be found on the right side of the unit, a headphone jack and power button residing on the top.
The Lenovo A1000 is being touted as Lenovo’s entry-level tablet designed for music lovers. It has front-facing speakers, and supports Dolby Digital Plus. It has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 7-inch display and 16GB of onboard storage. It also has a microSD slot which allows for expansion up to 32GB, and will be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The A1000 is similar in design to the A3000, with the exception being stereo speakers on the front of the tablet instead of the rear.
