It was back in March 2012 when we saw the first Caterpillar-branded Android smartphone. Now another one popped up and it’s obviously a successor to the original Cat B10.
Marked as Cat B15, it’s a rugged device that comes with the usual IP67 rating, meaning it can “handle” dust and water. In addition, this tough fella’ should be able to survive a drop on to concrete from 1.8 metres and continue to work like it’s nobody’s business at temperatures down to -20C.
Specs wise, the Cat B15 comes with a Gorilla Glass-protected 4-inch WVGA screen, 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 5-megapixel camera on the back, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS while Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is running the show. Yeah, it’s not a high-end device by any stretch of imagination, but it should get the job done, even if you’re using it with wet fingers.
As for the price, the Cat B15 will be available from March 2013 for 329 EUR.
And here are few hands-on photos of the Cat B15…
