Metro PCS Brings Jelly Bean to Samsung Galaxy S III

Samsung Galaxy S III users on Metro PCS are about to get their first taste of Jelly Bean. MetroPCS last Friday started rolling out a new 400MB update for the Samsung Galaxy S III, with users expected to receive the update early this week.

This is great news for Metro PCS. Bringing their version of the Galaxy S III from Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean puts it on par with other providers, such as AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon who have already updated their Galaxy S III handsets to Jelly Bean.

With the update to Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2, Metro PCS Galaxy S III users will enjoy the new features such as Google Now and an updated notification system. So if you are anxious to receive this update, head over to Settings > About Device > Software Update on your phone and see if the update has arrived. Have you received the update yet? How is it?

I go to mine and click software update it says “Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later.” Don’t know what that means?

My update gets to 32% and fails. My phone is rooted….. but that shouldn’t interfere with the update…. or would it? any ideas why it’s failing?
