Asus Padfone 2 finally available for pre-order in the UK for 599 GBP

Asus Padfone 2 was announced back in October and it’s still not available in most parts of the world. In fact, British users are about to get the option to buy one from few retailers, including Ebuyer and Carphone Warehouse. The former has started accepting pre-orders, asking 599 GBP (about $900) for the unlocked, SIM-free unit; while the latter only prepared a “coming soon” page. Yeah, the price is outrageous and honestly we can’t suggest anyone to buy one of these when we know that pretty much the same cash can get you both the phone and tablet. Plus, let’s not forget that the update model, Padfone Infinity, has been announced last week, making the current Padfone 2 look cheap in its plastic casing.

As I said it before, Asus needs to cut time from announcing to launching of its products in order to get more customers (and media love). By the time their Padfones are available, they are no longer high-end devices. Shame, cause we love the idea…
