Sony’s new flagship device, the Sony Xperia Z is looking to be a big hit for Sony this year, with all devices allocated for sale upon release being sold in Japan, Germany, France, Hong Kong and Taiwan, according to sources in the handset supply chain.
The popularity of this device bodes well for Sony, who is looking to ship more than 50 million devices this year, compared to 34 million devices shipped last year. With the release of the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S IV just around the corner, this could help Sony climb to the number three position in the mobile market.
The Sony Xperia Z is an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-based dust-proof and water-resistant smartphone with a 5-inch full HD screen, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera and 16GB of internal memory.
